Ticketwise was mentioned on ticketnews.com in an interview with marketing expert Amanda Pekoe yesterday (Monday 23 Nov 2009) who owns The Pekoe Group a theatre marketing and advertising company whose clients include Rock of Ages, Puppetry of the Penis amongst others.

Pekoe was being interviewed because she is set to speak at the upcoming Ticket Summit in New York in January.

Asked whether there are "any emerging players/companies making an impact on the industry"she replies that she's been hearing about Ticketwise.

Ticketwise API Now Available To Developers

We have now developed an API for developers to access Ticketwise listings data to run on independent sites. Developers will be able to query the data using various search types, page through data results, sort by date or name, match searches or look for a string.

To access Ticketwise data you will need to be able to work with XML or JSON responses.

The following request will give you the next 10 music results for the city of Preston in XML:

http://www.ticketwise.com/api/request/q=preston&limit=10&type=city&limit=10&category[]=3&format=xml

If you wish to use the API then please let us know your intentions and be kind and cache the results!

Syntax
q(uery) : enter search term/s
s(kip) : skip records from start of result - default (0)
limit : number of results - default (20)
country : uk / us / global - default global
sortby : sort results by alpha or date - default date
match : match exact or like - default exact
type : search type, search by event name / venue / city - default name
page_no : numeric value for paging through results
category[] : ticket categories, can you use multiple ([1 - 5] Comedy, Festivals, Music, Sport, Theatre
format : format of results, xml or json - default xml

Joining Viagogo as one of our secondary market ticketing partners are Seatwave one the UK's leading second hand ticket sites.

As of today tickets available on Seatwave will appear in our secondary results when tickets have sold out from our primary partners.

We're constantly working on increasing the usability of the Ticketwise search engine and it's always been a priority for us to offer results from secondary market ticketing sites as part of your main search.

If a ticket search you have made returns sold out results for primary market agents then underneath there should appear any secondary market results for your search. As of today, we're pleased to announce that Viagogo results will appear alongside our regular results.

So for instance if you search for Kings Of Leon tickets, which is sold out, you will now get results for second hand tickets on Viagogo. You will also get a range of prices that the tickets are on sale for.
